In between, but not exactly

Some people don’t show their horse, but want the best performance possible from themselves when they ride.

Some people have a difficult time understanding why you would waste your time not getting external affirmation from your activity.

Some of the best people I know don’t care what people think.

get closer

I find one good way to get my point across to either a horse or rider is to get closer, not louder.

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. James 4:8

helpless

I watch the horses eating hay.

I have round bales and generally there are 4-6 bales for 8 horses.  They normally eat in buddy pairs or 3′s so there are always empty feeding spots.

However, when one gets pushed out of his spot, he stands a few feet away with head down as if there is no more food available and he will starve in all likelihood.

Another indication of their ability to accept defeat even when their desires are being threatened or denied.

all wrong, not really, it just tastes that way

Are you a good cook if your food always is bland or you substitute inappropriate ingredients (oatmeal in hamburger is fine to make it go farther but adding the flavoured instant packaged kind can be gross).

Things can be so close to being great, but all it takes is a missing ingredient or the wrong one added, and looks, texture, and smell mean very little (if your goal is to eat something appealing to your taste buds).

Be careful when riding that you are not going for looks alone.

strong and fighting

There are horses who get labeled as stubborn or strong or lazy when more often a label of ineffectual, unfair, or under skilled should be placed on those who have been in authority.

People want the answer to suit their question.

Instead, we should believe in the answer – and figure out what is the question.

old versus new

Why are people so willing to find someone to tell them how to do the old way when it did not work for them the first (or second or third) time.  Rehash the old way and hope something new comes of it?

who’s glory

Training a horse to perform in the movies  is amazing but is it mainly for our entertainment and for someone to profit monetarily or for fame?

I wonder how much the horse truly benefits.

Hopefully training creates a widespread advantage to the horse and anyone considering the horse.

free?

Freedom can be confused with the ability or opportunity to do what ever we want.

A free horse in our society would most likely overeat, get struck by moving vehicles, or die of starvation.

Freedom entails responsibility and subjection to a power which is looking out for your best interests.

John 8:36 If the Son sets you free you will be free indeed.
